This includes yellowjackets (Vespula spp. and Dolichovespula spp.), baldfaced hornets (D. maculata), and paper wasps (Polistes spp.). “Bees” belong to the hymenopteran family Apidae. Note that baldfaced hornets are lumped in with yellowjackets. That’s because “true hornets” belong to the genus Vespa.
