Homemade Sausage Patties

I haven’t forgotten that my “cousin”, Karen O, needed a sausage recipe. Here’s a good one from my file – from a reader who adapted it only slightly from an online recipe. It’s pretty yummy!

Sausage Patties

Can be divided in half

Ingredients

2 lbs ground pork – not “lean”

1 teaspoon dried sage

1 teaspoon dried thyme

1-1/2 teaspoons onion powder

1/2 teaspoon garlic powder

1-1/2 teaspoons black pepper

1 teaspoon salt

1 teaspoon sugar or a bit of maple syrup or your choice of sweetener – optional

Want more heat?

Add a tiny shake of ground cayenne

Instructions

Mix ingredients, make one real little pattie, then microwave it to check for seasonings. Shape into patties and fry in a bit of oil or butter.

Can be frozen individually before cooking!
