01/16 and 01/18/2018 – Demonstration Class: Sunday Suppers – Brooklyn Style

I hope you join me for one of my favorite classes – good food, good friends, and good stories!

Tuesday, January 16 11:00-1:30 and Thursday, January 18 | 6:00 – 8:30pm

Price: $55.00

With Rita Heikenfeld

Ethnic groups make Brooklyn a veritable melting pot of handed down recipes. The Sunday supper is a cherished tradition of comfort foods enjoyed by family and friends. Join Rita as she sets the table for simple, homey, memorable dinners from Brooklyn’s immigrant Italian and Jewish kitchens. These are suppers you’ll want to make again and again.

  • Giant Pasta Shells stuffed with gorgonzola and hazelnuts with a homemade tomato sauce
  • Iceberg Lettuce with homemade Italian dressing
  • Ora’s Brisket – meltingly tender, slow-cooked brisket
  • Latkes – Rita puts a new twist on this old-fashioned potato favorite
  • Garlic Confit on toasted baguette
  • Caramel Apple Upside-Down Cake

the class was amazing, rita. I learn so much just listening to you talk. and it’s so fun to watch how you put ingredients together. even with culinary school and 20+ years as a restaurant manager, I learn something new in every class. thanks for a delicious day!!

Thanks, Susan. I am so happy you attended. It was a special class. My husband was manager of a restaurant, too. So I can understand how devoted you have to be.
      Blessings,
      Rita
