Pull rooted sprigs of mint to grow indoors

This started out as just a long root that I tucked into the soil about 1/2" deep.

This started out as just a long root that I tucked into the soil about 1/2″ deep.

When you’re putting your herbs to bed for the winter, remember that mint is an aggressive perennial. Pull a few rooted sprigs, pot them up, place in moist soil in a sunny window and voila: mint for winter!
