No morels yet but plenty of ramps and wild flowers

My friends Butch and Char and I went morel hunting in our secret place. No morels yet but take a look at these finds:


Dog’s tooth violets are supposed to be edible, the flower and the root. I  haven’t tasted them yet.IMG_2625

Blood root used medicinally by the American Indians. Crush the stem and you see red.IMG_2629
May apples starting to bloom. The only edible part is the fruit for jelly but the deer usually get it first. Check out the dutchman’s breeches lacy leaves on the top right. They already flowered.IMG_0244
I love seeing white violets.
