Here’s how to tell: if an egg floats to the bottom of a glass filled with water, it is fresh. As it ages, air enters the shell making it float. A little bit of floating is OK but if an egg floats all the way to the top, I think it’s past its prime for nutrition. BTW I cheated a bit – I just pulled this from the nest!
