For many years I’ve been teaching, in my annual gifts from the kitchen class, gifts in a jar. But my neighbor, Erin Phillips, did me one better. Not only will you find easy and totable gifts in a jar on her website Phillipsfarmbatavia, check out her Grandma Bettie’s pumpkin bread in a coffee can. (That’s it in the photo above). Erin, as always, walks you through step by step with photos. You’ll feel like you’re standing right next to her in her farmhouse kitchen.
I can tell you from a happy tummy that this bread is bakery quality. And it has black walnuts in it. How cool is that? BTW black walnuts are not real expensive to buy this year – I found them at Jungle Jims Eastgate store in Cincinnati for $4.99 for a nice size bag.
And if you like cookies in a jar or soup in a jar for gift giving, she has those recipes, too!
One more thing, Erin shares a useful tutorial on how to make the best gifts in a jar.
